STUDIO
To provide a guest teacher with a home, an existing space of our campus in Antwerp was transformed, working with characteristics of the Art Deco. The interior consists of an entrance hall, connected to a corridor that leads to the living space. This corridor becomes a fading from darkness towards bright natural daylight that shines in through the large windows. The closer you step to the living space, the lighter the hallway becomes.
Once you are in the living space, you immediately notice the golden balustrade that shields the upper floor and the stairs. Just like in the Art Deco, the color scheme has been drawn in from the outside world. Consequently, gold colors (extracted from house facades) were integrated in the interior, combined with a black parquet floor. As few walls as possible have been placed, so that the beautiful transition in the hallway is also present in the interior.
