EXACTITUDE

Based upon the description of “exactitude” by Italo Calvino, an album cover illustration was created. Here, the concept is doing more with less: the less we know about something, the less exactitude but the more intrigued we are. Mystery is used to attract the spectator.

Using lyrics from the song Blue Velvet, a front cover was designed by creating a black and white portrait. The highlights are formed by the characters of the song. The words got translated into Japanese and Chinese to create mystery and make the text less readable (from my point of view). The back cover was made by exposing the audio waves from 5 different versions of the song and alter it into a waterfall of tears.
